This is it: the last regular remote learning post--for now! You're welcome to go back to complete any of the previous assignments, but future assignments will happen primarily in class. Reading You're in for a treat today. If you haven't already heard, the author of Harry Potter has (or rather is) releasing her first children's story since the release of the boy wizard stories called The Ickabog. Give it a read here. Note to parents: like many children's stories, there are some dark and scary themes which you may want to preview first. In addition, there is also an illustration competition. Local Government Awareness Week We are in the last few days for the local government contests. Please make sure you complete all assignments before the deadline if you wish to enter. Details in Seesaw. Speaking Please take some time to complete the remote learning reflection in Seesaw. You'll find the details there.
What to Expect in June?
School will look very different when upon return in June. Please review the letters from Mrs. Cho carefully as there are many details you shouldn't miss. I will leave the learning applications open though many of them will expire at the end of June. At the end June I will close down the Seesaw learning site, but not before you have a chance to download your child's portfolio (you can find the instructions here). The school district has also listed a number of learning resources here, which will be a benefit for those not returning to the classroom. For those returning to school, remember to bring the following:
I expect to take a few short walking field trips during June. As such, I need to have a signed consent form from a parent or legal guardian. For convenience, you can find the copy of the form below. If you want to complete it before school resumes in June, you can use this site to complete the information, sign it before sending it back to me via email. Otherwise, your child will receive a printed copy on the first day back.
I feel like the online portion of class is winding down for many students as we prepare for a return to school in June. Please review the back to school protocols in the handouts emailed by our principal, Mrs. Cho. Math Look to the division and multiplication families for this exercise.
Reading Continue with twenty to thirty minutes each day. Think Outside the Box Thursday Look for #20 here and in Seesaw. You can complete it online or by paper and submit both through Seesaw.
Outdoor Scavenger Hunt Check out Seesaw for the list. The weather should be beautiful so you should have a nice time.
Pollinator Workshop
Don't forget to sign up for next week's pollinator workshop. I have prepared brief little reflection for after the workshop which will be posted to Seesaw next Wednesday morning. |
